★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very friendly, cozy restaurant. Very good for families with small children. Delicious udon and a variety of other dishes. Good place to enjoy traditional Kyoto Udon. English Menu is available but staff only speaks Japanese and felt a little bit intimidated by serving foreigners.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Minamo was a delightful and cozy restaurant with decent prices. Very good for children as others have mentioned. We went for an early dinner and the place was empty. My companion got the eggy udon (very good) and I’m not a kid but they let me get the kids meal, complete with dolphin shaped rice cake and kid-friendly tableware. The kids meal was really good but not quite enough food for an adult! We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere overall, and that we were also able to enjoy a beer with dinner.
