★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are the essence of Japanese hospitality. Robe, towels, socks, slippers, ride to and from station, dinner, breakfast, clean and spacious rooms, advanced toilet, and a relaxation room. English friendly service and signage. They even went out of their way to ensure we received our complementary gift after we had already left the hotel. Our drive chased us up My. Kurama to ensure we received it. Very professional and very welcoming. I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing night away from the bustle of city Life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved the facility. Very clean, staff was very courteous, plenty of amenities. A little pricey, but considering how that includes 2 (huge, even by American standards) meals, access to the baths (which are very clean, quiet, and overall wonderful and have a beautiful view of the nearby mountainside), and a free shuttle, it was worthwhile, in my opinion. Also located very close to several mountain shrines. Wish we had stayed for more than 1 day! Loved this Onsen!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ FACILITIES
The outdoor hot spring is 1000¥ and the indoor+outdoor option was 2500¥. The outdoor option only has one bath per gender, which was somewhat limiting and a little disappointing. Luckily it wasn't so busy when we went. I can't imagine what it would be like when busy
VIEW
The view is nice, but you are a little removed from nature. I had a romanticized idea that we'd be immersed and right up to the mountain, but there is definitely some distance between you and the trees. Make sure you go before it gets dark. You can't see anything after that.
TRANSIT
The onsen has a frequent and free shuttle to the nearby train station, which then got us back to Central Kyoto. The shuttle is quite convenient and we didn't have to wait at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful experience that was one of the highlights of our trip. We stayed overnight and had the duck hot pot dinner plan. They give generous portions and the food is very good. We were pampered by the staff; they all were helpful and warm. The overnight plan even includes breakfast. My husband said it was the best nights rest that he had on our whole two week trip in Japan. I would highly recommend staying overnight so you can bathe in the evening and the next morning, and experience wonderful hospitality!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On the word of a stranger we took a last second bus to the very last stop at the top of Kurama mountain. So, so glad that we did.
This hot spring was something out of a dream. We bought the day pass for both the indoor and the outdoor baths. We were given a yukata to wear between them, too.
Sitting in the outdoor bath, buck-naked with ~15 strangers, sitting quietly watching the wind pass through the towering pine trees might never be beat. A truly awe-inspiring, touching experience.
Who cares how much it costs? I can’t even recall the price because the experience was that fantastic. Visit this place!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was the most amazing osen that I have ever been to in my life! The staff were so lovely and friendly even to foreigners! There is a restaurant, massage chairs, indoor and outdoor baths, and a FREAKING NAP ROOM (relaxation room)! You can spend as long as you like here and they provide you with a locker for all of your things so long as you purchase the Indoor bath pack. It's a wonderful place to relax after hiking Kurama mountain

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an amazing experience. I came here on a whim one day while travelling in the area and I have never done anything like it. My friend and I each paid 1000yen to get into the hot spring (which is more like a hot bath in a small pool), and a little extra to rent a towel. Once we got in, we were split up (guys and girls) - it was an interesting experience, with a beautiful view and the freeing fact that you’re completely naked and everyone around you is too. I’m glad I came.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My friends tried the outdoor bath while I chilled in the lobby. They said it was all right. The lobby was nice and warm. There is a restaurant inside the main building and a lounge for staying guests. Shuttles are available for staying guests too.
