S	Saki Herbert on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious. My friend and I had the Salmon Yukke-don (サーモンユッケ丼) and the Negitoro-don (ネギトロ丼). It came with two types of tempura, miso-soup, namahu (生麩), and a tangerine. Definitely worth the price (and more.) The atmosphere was sightly clamorous because of the fun 80s music (I think) and chatter, but that worked as a plus. No tables I don't think. Sitting on the floor style.

The menu is very rich with options at pretty affordable prices. I was only able to try the items shown in my photos but it was absolutely delicious. It's small so make sure you get there for opening to avoid any lineups.

It’s like going for dinner at your Japanese Grandma’s house, but no one pulls at your cheeks or pesters you about getting married! The staff are friendly and helpful, an the food is fresh, healthy delicious, and honest with loads of vegetarian options and some refreshing fruity drinks. Every dish we ate was just perfect. Beautifully balanced and simple in the way that only traditional Japanese home cooking can be. Overall one of the most mouthwatering and best value meals we’ve had in Kyoto, and we’re already looking forward to getting back there sometime. Be aware that the menu is only in Japanese and with no pictures, but the attentive staff are happy to help out with decisions. Also be careful not to bump your head on the low ceilings and doors ways, I’ve ended up with a headache, or maybe it’s just from all the drinks!

We came as a group of 20 (pre-booked, obviously), ordered drinks and a few small plates to share at a time until we were full. The lovely staff handled our orders well and the food came out pretty fast. It was all very tasty!
