これまでに南区の吉祥院天満宮（きっしょういんてんまんぐう）や上京区の菅原院天満宮（すがわらいんてんまんぐう）をブログで採り上げましたが、今回の菅大臣神社（かんだいじんじんじゃ 菅大臣天満宮（かんだいじんてんまんぐう））も、同じく菅原道真の邸跡に建てられたと伝えられる天満宮です。
There are many Tenmangu shrines dedicated to Michizane Sugawara (Tenjin) in Kyoto, and some of them are said to have been built on the ruins of the Sugawara family's residence (which is also the birthplace of Michizane).
