★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very delicious food! They have both displays in a window outside and an english menu. The woman that works there is very kind and friendly! It's a small place and seems to be very popular (shows that they habe really yummy food haha), so go early.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a small family-owned eatery with limited number of seats. We arrived before the shop opens and there were already 2 people before us! A very nice lady greeted us politely and passed us an English menu knowing that we are tourists. She speaks very good English too! As I wasn't sure what to order so I simply showed her one of the food pictures on Google Maps provided by Kazu Nissan. Thank you Kazu Nissan! My husband ordered a set of soba noodles with tempura. Very clean place and food is tasty. Many locals come here to eat too! We are so glad we found this place near our hotel. : )

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I stumbled onto this hole-in-the-wall gem while walking around the neighborhood. While the restaurant was very small and unassuming, the people working here had an amazing attitude and provided impeccable service. The hostess in particular was incredibly kind and conversational. Drinks came out quickly, the food was prepared speedily, and the quality was outstanding. Best of all, portions were large and the bill was small (about $2,800 for appetizer, dinner, and drinks for two). We will definitely be stopping back in if we're ever in Kyoto again!
