御祭神は宇迦之御魂命。永延年間（987-989）の創建。古来「山崎稲荷」と称された。「山崎杜　鹿島神社社務所」を挟んで隣の鹿島神社の境内社というわけではなく、歴とした独立社で、石川古墳群1号墳上に鹿島神社が鎮座するのに対し、当社は隣接する石川古墳群2号墳上に鎮座という形となります。社務所前から参道が走り、赤い木の両部鳥居が二基、石段上に社殿が鎮座していらっしゃいます。拝殿内にはなんと、立派な右大臣左大臣の木像が。その昔は石段下に随身門があったかも知れません。御本殿は見事な造営ですが、大震災のせいでしょうか、分厚い屋根（つまり元は茅葺きだったということ）部分がずれています。もしかしてですが、お隣の鹿島神社の創建が（一説にある）元禄9年の方だとすれば、当社こそが山崎の杜の元々の社であるのかも知れないと考えてみました。

The deity is Ukanomitama. Founded during the Eien era (987-989). It was called "Yamazaki Inari" from ancient times. It is not the precincts of Kashima Shrine next to "Yamazaki Mori Kashima Shrine Office", but it is an independent company with a long history, and Kashima Shrine is enshrined on the Ishikawa Kofun Group No. 1 tumulus, while our company is adjacent. It will be in the form of a seat on the No. 2 tumulus of the Ishikawa tumulus group. The approach runs from the front of the shrine office, and there are two torii gates on both sides of the red tree, and the shrine is enshrined on the stone steps. Inside the hall of worship, there is a magnificent wooden statue of the Minister of the Right and the Minister of the Left. In the old days, there may have been a Zuijin gate under the stone steps. The main shrine is a splendid construction, but probably because of the great earthquake, the thick roof (that is, it was originally thatched) is out of alignment. Perhaps, if the neighboring Kashima Shrine was founded in the 9th year of Genroku (one theory), I thought that we might be the original company of Yamazaki no Mori.
