★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 新撰組の伊東甲子太郎が暗殺された地。石碑などが建っており、寺内に資料も揃えられている。お寺の方がとても親切で、歴史(幕末・新撰組)ファンでなくとも訪れる価値がある。
御朱印は三種類あり、伊東の和歌を記したものもある。
 The place where Koshitaro Ito of Shinsengumi was assassinated. There are stone monuments and other materials in the temple. Temples are very kind and worth visiting even if you are not a history (Bakumatsu / Shinsengumi) fan.
There are three types of red seals, some of which describe Ito's waka.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 新選組関連史跡巡りでこちらにも伺いました。日蓮宗の寺院さんです。尼僧さんが営まれております。七条油小路の変(詳しくは、お調べ下さい)の前段階である元新選組参謀で御陵衛士・伊東甲子太郎の暗殺の際、伊東甲子太郎がこの寺院門前にある石碑にもたれかかり絶命したそうです。その関連で、御首題・御朱印には伊東甲子太郎の意匠がさりげなく施されております。そして本光寺から数十メートル北に行くとそこは七条油小路の変の現場です。授与に赴く方は、そういう場所ということで理解された上で参拝して頂けると新選組ファンとして非常にありがたく思います。
I also visited here for visiting historical sites related to the Shinsengumi. It is a temple of the Nichiren sect. A nun is running. It is said that Kashitaro Ito leaned against the stone monument in front of the temple gate and died when the former Shinsengumi staff member, Kashitaro Ito, was assassinated before the Shichijo Aburanokoji change (please check for details). In connection with this, the design of Kashitaro Ito is casually applied to the title, Goshuin. And if you go tens of meters north of Honkoji Temple, you will find the strange site of Shichijo Aburanokoji. Those who go to the award will be very grateful as Shinsengumi fans if they can worship after understanding that it is such a place.

新撰組ゆかりの寺院でもあります。
本堂に入ると、見事な御本尊が出迎えてくれます。
It is a temple of the Nichiren sect in a residential area in Kyoto city.
It is also a temple related to Shinsengumi.
When you enter the main hall, you will be greeted by a magnificent principal image.

御朱印を頂く際に御本尊様の御前まで上がらせていただき、来訪記録ができるノートがありそちらへ記載いをしながら待たせていただきました。
非常に静かで落ち着く場所でした。
御朱印も達筆で京都旅行の大事な思い出となりました。
We received a red stamp from a female priest.
When I received the red stamp, I went up to the front of the principal idol, and there was a notebook that I could record my visit, and I waited while writing it there.
It was a very quiet and calm place.
The red stamp was also a handwriting and became an important memory of my trip to Kyoto.

伊東甲子太郎が、息絶えた場所だそうです。境内は広くはありませんが、植栽が綺麗でした。また、お寺の方も親切で、御首題頂いている間、本堂内に上げて頂きました。時間前なのに、対応もして下さった。ありがたいです。
Worshiped in December 2020. It is a Nichiren Buddhist temple.
It's a place where Koto Ito died. The grounds are not wide, but the planting was beautiful. In addition, the temple was kind and had me raise it in the main hall while receiving the subject. Even before time, I also responded. Thank you.
