According to the Toji website, the approach from Kitadaimon to Kitasomon on the north side of the Toji Shokudo is called Kushige Koji, which is the only alley in Kyoto that has remained the same width since the Heian period. That's it.
Kanchi-in is located on the east side of the alley, and during the Kamakura period, Emperor Go-Uda planned to live in a temple monk at Toji Temple. It was founded by (Goho). Kanchi-in is a Shingon Buddhist school, so to speak, a laboratory of a university. There are more than 5,000 cases, and it is a valuable cultural heritage in Japan with high numerical and quality standards. The "Five Great Kokuzo Bosatsu", the principal image of the Tang dynasty enshrined by the wise treasure, is designated as an Important Cultural Property. Between the upper part of the guest hall, which is a national treasure, the "eagle figure" and "bamboo grove figure" written by Miyamoto Musashi are drawn.
It is prohibited to take pictures of the inside of the building, but it is OK to take pictures of the garden. While listening to a story from a guide man in front of Musashi's painting, it turned out that Mr. Guide once went to Toyama several times to climb Mt. Tsurugi and Tateyama, and also used the company products that we work for. This was also a very fulfilling visit because I was able to hear the story of this because the visit date was just the first day of the 7th day after Toji Temple.
If you get the red stamp at Kanchi-in, you can only put it in the book, and you can handwrite it at the Toji Shokudo.

If you walk out of the north gate of Toji Temple, you will find it on your right.
You can see the guest rooms that are national treasures, the statue of the Five Great Kokuzo Bodhisattva, which is an important cultural property, and the statue of Aizen Myo, the principal image of marriage, good luck, and child treasure.
Also, the figure of the bamboo grove of the fusuma painting drawn by Miyamoto Musashi and the figure of the eagle between the floors are a must-see. It seems that it is not particularly protected, and I was disappointed that the paintings are fading year by year. There are people in the hospital who will explain it carefully, so it's good to see it interestingly.
It is also elegant to take a leisurely look at the dry garden style garden, which is said to be the garden of the elders.

The tower on the north gate side of Toji Temple. As with many temples, photography inside is prohibited. You can enter with a set ticket and a visit to Toji Temple for 1000 yen.
I didn't have time to spare and didn't know the existence of this place, so I thought it would be okay to see it or not, but decided to go with a set of 200 yen, and the answer was correct.
If you come to Toji and add 200 yen, you should stop by. There is value.
Is it a research facility and a building for the residence and entertainment of the elders? What was impressive was the statue of the Five Great Void Bodhisattva.
For the first time, I learned about the existence of the Five Great Void Bodhisattva, and the Five Great Void Bodhisattva of the Jingoji Tahoto was a national treasure, and I became more interested in it at another temple in Kyoto. One of the characteristics of the Shingon sect.
The Five Great Void Bodhisattvas of Kanchi-in are riding lions, elephants, horses, peacocks, and Karura. What is Karura?
Not only is it a unique statue, but it is also interesting that the monks who went to Tang brought it back from Chang'an during the Heian period.
I was impressed by the lesson of Ieyasu Tokugawa, who was placed in a room somewhere and ended with "Don't blame yourself, blame others. A lesson that clearly shows that he was a great man but a hard worker. It was a word that I didn't have to meet at this Kanchiin.
The garden is wonderful, but there are many famous gardens in Kyoto, so there is another one.
There are pictures and melons of the national treasure guest hall, the statue of Aizen Myo, and Miyamoto Musashi, but I personally didn't leave much impression.

It is a special head temple at the head of Toji Temple on the grounds of Toji Temple. The quality and quantity of esoteric Buddhism in the possession is said to be the highest in Japan, and has been under the patronage of successive powers. Miyamoto, a national treasure guesthouse with an Irimoya-zukuri and eaves sword, a dry garden "Chija no Niwa", a shoin where you can enjoy the four seasons, a Bodhisattva statue of the Five Great Voids of Shigefumi, and a masterpiece after the duel of Ichijoji Sagamatsu. The powerful "Washi no Zu" and "Takebayashi no Zu", which are said to have been drawn by Musashi, are powerfully drawn with eagle and sword-like bamboo, reminiscent of the swordsman Musashi. You can see it at a great price with the admission ticket set with Toji Temple. You can get the red stamp at Toji Shokudo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worth the visit!
I was immobilized by its surroundings and the interior inside. Its less popular than the Toji temple, but I think this temple should receive much more attention. I really enjoyed and find the overall very beautiful.
A ticket is necessary and you have to take off your shoes to enter.
Its location is easy accessible as its just a few min walk from Toji Temple.
