★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 京都市中央図書館とも 中で繋がっていて、一体感を持たせてあります。大好きな場所なのでちょくちょく行きます！無料施設で これだけの濃い内容なのは 市民としても自慢になるものだが、意外と 存在も知らない人が 多いんですよね！勿体無い！民間施設だと1000円近くは 取られるものですよね。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昨年暮れのテレビで平安京当時の街のジオラマが見られるというので三十分位のつもりででかけました。トンデモナイ!ボランティアの説明についつい２時間以上。稚拙な質問にも丁寧に答えて下さって道長や紫式部が現実のものになっていくの感じました。齢７０の頭を振りしぼって源氏物語読んで良かったー。現代語訳ですけれどね。なんと入場無料でした。
I heard that you can see the diorama of the city at the time of Heiankyo on the TV at the end of last year, so I went out with the intention of about 30 minutes. Tondemonai! It took more than 2 hours to explain the volunteers. I felt that Michinaga and Murasaki Shikibu would become a reality by answering childish questions politely. I'm glad I shook my 70-year-old head and read the Genji story. It's a modern translation, though. It was free to enter.

しかし、時間がムダに合わない。修学旅行や観光客が利用はし難いかな。残念な施設は京都には多いです。
簡単な「平安京の地図」を販売していました。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 京都アスニー内にある「平安京」の巨大模型です。かなり広く、しっかりつくりこまれていて、圧巻です。入場無料。1階事務室で販売されている「平安京図会マップ(300円)」や、「平安京百景(1800円)」は、買う価値があります。
そもそも、この施設の玄関が史跡ですので、感慨深いですね。
有料ですが、駐車場もありますし、「京都予防医学センター」も横にありますし、人間ドックのついでに寄るのもよいですね。

その他にも平安時代の終わりに頃に造られた鳥羽離宮復元模型や六勝寺の一つである法勝寺復元模型などがありました。
平安京を勉強するには、丁度いい展示がされています。
休館日は火曜日 展示時間は10時～17時 入館料は無料

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ JR円町駅から徒歩10分、図書館、京都生涯学習センター等と併設故に観光客は見落としますね。ただし、一度立ち寄ることをお薦めします。理由は簡単、1200年前の平安京の時代(794～)の京都を、歴史学者たちが精根込めて、模型で再現してくれているのですから…
先ず、当時の儀式や宴を行った建物である豊楽殿、天皇や貴族の屋敷である鳥羽離宮、そして法勝寺の八角の九重の塔（1342年消失）の再現を見ます。
そして一番の見所は、奥のブースの「平安京の復元模型」圧巻である。まぁ、京の都をよくもこれだけ精巧に作ったもんだと感心しますよ !
平安京の表玄関の羅城門、西寺と東寺を構えて、幅が80mも有ったと言われる朱雀大路、自然を残した神泉苑、鴨川を見て京都御苑や上賀茂神社神社、八坂神社に三十三間堂は当時のまま故に安心します?
勿論、国宝の源氏物語の屏風図、北野天神の縁起絵巻、洛中洛外図屏風絵(いずれも複製、撮影不可)も展示、他に貴族の遊びの体験も出来ると有って、それでも、入場料は無料で、わからないことは教えてくれるからすごいわ！
ここを見てから京都を巡るのも良いかも✌️
