The town magistrate's office was divided into east and west, and was in charge of tasks every other month. Nishimachi magistrate's office was built on the west side of Senbondori Nijo Castle. This stone mark shows the mark. The Higashimachi Magistrate's Office was located about 300m east of here, on the south side of Nijo Castle.

There is only a stone monument at the site of the Nishimachi magistrate's office. The green belt near the monument became mini-Japanese garden style. I'm interested in that and I can only see the monument.

There was a stone monument quietly. How was it when you were in the Shinsengumi? How was the famous "Hexagon Prison"? It's an old story now, and I can't imagine it from the current cityscape.

In 1668, the Kyoto Town Magistrate was founded, and took over the judicial and administrative authority from the Daikan Magistrate (Kamigundai) and Kyoto Shoshidai. Machi-bugyōsho were set up in two locations, east and west, and took charge of the mission every other month. The Nishimachi Governor's Office was built along Senbon-dori on the west side of Nijo Castle. This stone mark shows the mark.
