★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 河原湯不動堂の少し手前から見るとよく見えました。午後なので日が山の陰に入り少し見辛いが、3段滝の滝筋に水が落ちるのが良く見え。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 道の駅八ッ場ふるさと館から延びる橋を渡って行くと、橋の袂にある滝です。
私はたまたま八ッ場ダム工事を橋の上から見ていて、滝を見つけました❗
橋を渡って見に行くと綺麗な滝でした。
道路沿いに不動尊があり、その隣、急傾斜の斜面にはカモシカが食事に来ていたので滝と一緒に暫く楽しませて貰いました❗

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 不動の滝は有名になった八ッ場ダムからほど近い場所にあります。民主党政権誕生で中止となった建設が自民党政権に戻って再スタートし、2020年完成を目指して今も進められている八ッ場ダムは、利根川の支流となる吾妻川の中流部の吾妻渓谷にあります。
この建設中のダムを見ることが出来る「やんば見放台」から国道145号を草津方面に車で5分（約3㎞）行くと「道の駅八ッ場ふるさと館が」あり、その脇の道を左折すると吾妻渓谷に架かる不動大橋があります。
この橋を渡ると右手に不動の滝が眺められます。橋を渡る途中では、ダム建設後に水の下に沈む吾妻渓谷を眼下に見下ろすことができます。
車で渡るよりも、道の駅に車を置いて不動大滝を目指すのがおススメです。
八ッ場ダム見学とセットでぜひ楽しんでください。

When you cross this bridge, you can see the immovable waterfall on your right. On the way to the bridge, you can look down on the Agatsuma Valley that sinks under the water after the dam construction.
Rather than crossing by car, it is recommended to aim at Fudo Otaki by placing a car at the roadside station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 三段からなる滝で、全体で９０ｍほどの落差があるようだ。
水量が少なく細い滝なので、それほど見ごたえがあるわけではないが、景色のアクセントになっている。
不動橋から眺めることになるが、ビュースポットの案内があるのですぐに見つかる。道の駅八ツ場ダムふるさと館から徒歩で１５分くらい。
今回、台風の影響でダムが満水近くになっていて、５年前に訪れた時とは全く違う印象を受けた。昔の写真と比べてみると、流れがほとんど変わっていなくて安心した。

八ッ場ダムのダム湖にかかる巨大な不動大橋。
そのたもとに不動明王を本尊とする川原湯不動堂がひっそりと佇んでいる。
ここには数台分の駐車スペースがあり、不動の滝を望むことができる。
来訪時は、厳冬期で完全に氷瀑と化していた。
橋から少し距離があるためか、滝の全体像が橋からは見渡せないからか、はたまた氷瀑と化していたためか、迫力がいまひとつ伝わって来ず。
橋の上のダム湖に吹き荒れる風に急かされ、足早に立ち去った。

~ Sandan Waterfall seen from Fudo Bridge ~
A huge Fudo Bridge over the dam lake of Yamba Dam.

At the time of my visit, it had completely turned into an icefall in the midwinter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 橋を100mくらい歩くと滝の全貌が見えてきます。手前で下の段だけかと思ったらさらに上がありました。湖の景色も橋の両側から楽しめます。彼方に八ッ場ダムが見えます。
If you walk about 100m on the bridge, you can see the whole view of the waterfall. I thought it was only the lower tier in the foreground, but there was even higher. You can also enjoy the view of the lake from both sides of the bridge. You can see the Yamba dam over there.
