★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 土木した遺構があるだけです。全体は大きいようですが、縄張り図をみないと想像しにくいかも。
尾根をさらに登って岩櫃山までいけます。絶景ポイントです。岩場があります。とくに山頂は厳しいです。
沢道をくだだて周回できます。

You can go up the ridge further to Mt. Iwatsuki. It is a superb view point. There is a rocky place. Especially the top of the mountain is tough.
You can go around a lot of roads.

奇岩をイメージさせる写真が出回る岩櫃城址。 しかし本丸跡はもっと山裾に有る為、少しガッカリ。平沢登り口から20分前後で到着。
但しこの事は、駐車場が近くまで出来ている事が大きい為だと思います。本来なら駅レベルからずっと城構えの範疇だろうかと
今回本丸跡から頂上迄行き、反対側の密岩通りを降りて潜龍院、郷原へ周り山麓をぐるっと回って出浦淵経由平沢登り口で約3時間。途中岩場や鎖場が有るので、登山靴、手袋はある方が良いと思います。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ お城自体は山城なので良くわからないです。岩櫃山の登山が出来ます。しかし、岩を登る場所が多いのでそれなりの注意は必要です。私も山登りは初心者レベルなので山頂であった登山者のおじさんに気をつけなさいと注意されました。その注意をしっかりと留意して降りる時は慎重に行動しました。

中世の山城遺構も見れ、さらには群馬100名山でもある岩肌の岩櫃山にも行けて両得！(笑)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 真田氏の居城として名高い岩櫃城の本丸。山城とはいえ本丸はかなり広いです。ここに戦国武将として名高い真田幸隆、昌幸がいたと思うと戦国ロマンを感じざるを得ません。ここからさらに岩櫃山にも登れますよ。結構険しい山なのでしっかりとした装備で登りましょう。
