2018/1/2 Visit: Beautiful garden but few people. It's useless. A common admission ticket for the Hojo Garden and Yuzenen is 500 yen. Worth to see!

It doesn't seem to be open to the general public, but we toured as a group. A fine building is well maintained and wonderful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 知恩院大方丈は寛永18年（1641）徳川家光の再建だそうです。内部は54畳敷の鶴の間を中心に全部で11の部屋からなり、狩野派の豪華な金壁の襖絵で装飾されています。
特別公開の際何度か拝観しました。
Chion-in Large Hojo is said to have been rebuilt by Tokugawa Iemitsu in 1641. The interior consists of 11 rooms, centered on a 54 tatami-mat crane room, and is decorated with gorgeous Kano school gold-walled fusuma paintings.
I saw it several times during the special exhibition.
