★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An excellent shoyu tonkotsu with a broth that’s rich and lip-smackingly sticky. However I found the flavour too subtle. The chashu was great - not too fatty! The egg was beautifully runny inside.
Service was excellent and very attentive. There is no English menu, but the staff helped us to order.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the best ramen I have tried in Kyoto. Before we went to Ichijiyouji, we were not there for bishiya. We found this store randomly and we decided to give a try. It turned out very good. We had a woman combo with chicken. The soup is very rich and portion is good for women. People work there very friendly. Highly recommended this place! Not many seats to serve so I believe it will be crowd when dinning time comes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I visited this shop twice while we stayed in the are and highly enjoyed it on both occasions. We each had the signature bowl at 680yen each and enjoyed the spinach/thinly sliced mushroom/spring onion and pork based ramen! Would highly recommend if you're in the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bishiya serves the best Tonkotsu Ramen I have ever had, and I have been to quite a few places, including Ichiran, Ippudo and Kairikiya.
They specialize in Tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen, which they make themselves in humongous pots directly behind the counter.
The soup is rich and creamy, with a savory flavour that could almost be described as sweet. The noodles have a very pleasant, firm texture and as opposed to many other ramen stores, they don’t serve their soup with bean sprouts as filler, but use Japanese spinach leaves instead.
This place is a must-go for Ramen lovers!
Don’t forget to take one of their business cards as a memento when you leave ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good value for money as the portions are big for what you're paying. Make sure to add condiments (like garlic) to make it taste better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ About as close to Yokohama Ie-kei ramen as you will find in Kansai with the addition of spinach and a sheet of nori. The noodles are slightly thicker and chewier and the broth is definitely thicker (lard) and saltier. When I first tasted the soup, it immediately reminded me of Sugita-ya near JR Shin Sugita Station in Yokohama. Very satisfying! The addition of the garlic (about 1tsp) intensifies the flavor of the soup.
There is a sweet glaze dripped onto the karaage. Excellent lunch and I’m so stuffed, no need for dinner.
