Everybody have different opinions but I think this is the restaurant where you can get the best ramen.

I recommend ramen at this very casual place in Kyoto. All the varieties we tried were good. The fried chicken was delicious too.

To be honest, I went here based on google recommendation for best ramen at Kyoro (thanks!) -- the place gets more crowded at dinner time, they'll give you number for queue. I ordered a big bowl of beef ramen for ¥850, but it is totally worth the price.

The best ramen in Kyoto area. Absolutely best taste and rather generous for the price. Only a downside is the distance from everything "touristy" and city center so you will need a patience and a bus ticket or a car. 10 out of 10.

Nothing special: averagely expensive and not so large portions. I had the Big soy-based ramen with fried rice as a side. Total 1155 yen (the taxes are not included in the menu). The ramen is ok, but the many places in Ichioji just nearby are much better.

Kairikiya has become one of our absolute favorite ramen stores in the Kansai area, joining Bishiya, Ippudo and Ichiran. This is the main store of the Kairikiya ramen chain (there is at least one other store in the center area of Kyoto). They serve, among others, an oily black soy-sauce based ramen and a wonderfully rich Tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen. I am particularly partial to their Miso Ramen. The soup is simply amazing - it has a subtle rich flavor that just melts in the mouth, with just the right amount of salt. The chashu slices are very mild and greatly complement the soup. If you are hungry to the point of starvation, try the yakimeshi teishoku - their yakimeshi/chahan is very delicious as well. A bowl of ramen and a plate of yakimeshi can easily feed two people, and the staff will give you extra plates and bowls for sharing if you ask (no extra charges!). The crowd is mixed at all hours - lots of families, workers, businessmen, students. Staff is very friendly. We regularly come here and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Highly recommended!
