 Arashiyama Arhat is usually on the road! It looks new compared to the Arhat of Sekihoji Temple! But it's worth seeing! No admission fee required!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 渡月橋から川沿いを上流沿いに歩き、天龍寺に向かってを歩いていると出会えると思います。この辺りをブラブラ歩くのも悪くはありません。突然のように羅漢さんがお出迎えしてくれたような気分です。この辺りは、整備され、綺麗になっています。この辺りの紅葉もいいですね。
You can meet them by walking upstream along the river from Togetsukyo Bridge and walking toward Tenryuji Temple. It's not bad to walk around here. It feels like Mr. Rakan welcomed me like a sudden. This area is well maintained and clean. The autumn leaves around here are also nice.

阪神・淡路大震災を機に宝厳院さんの声かけから羅漢像を置き始め、今では宝厳院前に約70体の羅漢像が並んでいます。

After the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, Hogon-in started to place Rakan statues, and now about 70 Rakan statues are lined up in front of Hogon-in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a little hike up the mountain you will find yourself in a lovely little park surrounded by many monkeys. They are truly beautiful to watch and the babies are adorable. I was a bit worried at first but there are many employees who guard the park and the monkeys so I felt very safe. Definitely recommend!
