V	Vagabond 0911 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful hotel and very modern with fine touch of Kyoto tradition. Staffs are all very hip and modern outlook compared to traditions that have been in Japan for ages. Went and tried the Mexican restaurant and food was very good and tasty. It's not a very wholesome portion but bear in mind it's very affordable price compared to Japan boutique hotel pricing. They also have an ATM machine as well as Money Changer machine, awesome. Only flaw I found was no parking place in the hotel and had to look for a nearby paid parking.

Incredible design by Kengo Kuma, Stumptown Coffee at the first floor, great space for chilling, studying and working and what more? Amazing food, perfect location great service and spacious, modern and stylish rooms. Highly recommended!!

The first ever Ace hotel in Japan, I was excited to see the place for over a year! Renovating traditonal building, they turned it into such an amazing place (not only the hotel but the restaurants and small shops as well). The hotel was stunning! I also loved the creative works collaborated with the local artists! It is expensive (for me at least) but would be really nice to spend a special day with loved ones.

B	Butang on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed in Ace Hotel while on my trip to Kyoto. The staff greeted when I entered and guided me to the receptionist table. The staff then gave a little explanation and gave a map about the whereabouts of the hotel. The hotel itself has a gym, a cafe and a restaurant. I then was guided by another staff to the elevator. As soon as I entered, the room was very clean and they gave us a cookie which tasted really good. There is also a television to watch netflix/youtube for entertainment and also a vinyl record player to set your mood with the variety of music disc they provide. There is also room service if you crave some food and dont want to go out. It also came with breakfast at the Italian restaurant and overall it was a very good experience.

The location and building is great, restaurants, shops & facilities very close. Parking is close by with standard pricing but double check the prices, some parks are short term and very exi. The Italian and Mexican restaurant have delicious food. The breakfast is exceptional. The staff are friendly and speak english. One of the best hotels we have stayed in Japan, very comfortable for foreigners.
J	Jesse Efron on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sustainably-minded, beautiful architecture. architecture 5-stars, rooms 5-stars, location 5-stars There aren't a lot of options for people looking for hotels going out of their way to be environmentally sustainable in Kyoto City (as of the end of 2021), but the Ace Hotel Kyoto is doing quite a bit, from reducing plastic, to collaborating with companies and stores that practice sustainable practices, to restaurants featuring upcycled drinks and locally sourced food, even in the stunning rooms I was hard pressed to find plastic usage. And the rooms are very well-designed, stylish, incredibly comfortable, with the best pillows I've experienced from a hotel in Kyoto City (and I've stayed in quite a few). The red brick exterior and variety of shops and restaurants all located at the same location as the hotel and its affiliate restaurants made the destination feel even more worth visiting. I don't have a single complaint about the hotel, it was fantastic. Highly recommend booking to include breakfast because it was phenomenal and the dining area was so cool.
