★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing Japanese desserts! The quality is so fine you have to pay respect to this historical dessert house in Kyoto. We ordered the zenzai which is sweet red bean soup with mochi. They were excellent, not too sweet, top quality red beans and airy texture. We also had the fu-manju in house as it cannot last longer than two hours without refrigeration. It was so flavoursome and fabulous chewy texture similar to that of a mochi. We bought other desserts to take away to enjoy. Pity they all have one day shelf life so we've had to stuff our face with the whole lot in one day ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Japanese sweets shop very near Katsura Imperial Villa. Really good and refreshing shaved ice desserts on a very warm day! They also have several Japanese sweets and light meals. Friendly and fast service, too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This establishment maintains the Japanese tradition with care and respect. This is a great place to try Japanese traditional sweets with “matcha” green tea. The service was excellent. I tried a sweet served in the skin of Yuzu lemon. The taste was delicate and floral. All sweets are made in the shop. This shop exists from a long long time ago. It is well worth a visit.
