You can experience making Yatsuhashi! I usually eat Yatsuhashi as a souvenir, but I experienced making that Yatsuhashi from scratch. The first floor of the store was a space where you could buy souvenirs. The 3rd floor was a production space that could accommodate a large number of people. Up to 100 people can be accommodated. There was only one person to explain, but it was very easy to understand, and although all the procedures were oral explanations, I proceeded to the next step without hesitation. It was interesting to be able to experience the process to completion by hand. I used to eat it all the time, but when I make it myself, it tastes great. If the timing is right, please try it! I recommend it.

I went to have a Japanese sweets making experience and a meal. The entrance on the 1st floor was a souvenir shop, and there was a space for experience on the 2nd floor. Although the reception was immediate, I was kept waiting, and even if the group who came later received guidance first and moved, there was no guidance, and other customers who were numb and complained, I remembered for the first time. I was told, "Oh, I'm sorry ~. To this ~", with no sincerity or apology. As a measure against corona, hand washing and disinfection were oral explanations. It seems that they have confirmed that they have been washed, but the staffing was too small for the group of customers in the first place, even though it was a weekend and holiday that would be crowded. Two staff members are assigned to 6 to 7 groups, from a small number of people (2 people) to a large number of people (7 people), and the content of the experience they choose is completely different. It's natural to have to wait, and it's natural that work stops halfway. Tables and chairs in a large room with no partitions. There are no partitions between the tables or on the table. By the way, the preparations for making Japanese sweets were set on the table, but only some of them were wrapped, and the containers and tables used to actually make Japanese sweets remained the same. There is dust in the container ... I don't know when the preparations were left unattended, but a group of children in the lower grades of elementary school slammed and moved, and a staff member with only two people went back and forth to give guidance to the table here. If so, dust will be collected. Guidance will be provided for the time being, but in such a situation, I think it is necessary to distribute a form with procedures and precautions to each individual. There is no polite explanation or advice. After the experience was over, the guide to the restaurant was said, "Oh, it's the second floor of the new building," and I was given a shopping discount ticket and told me to go from the aisle on the second floor. In the area on the second floor, it was very beautiful with lots of painting-like works made with splendid embroidery. It was a simple guide, so I thought that it was connected to the restaurant as it was, and when I went downstairs there was a staircase, it was the original souvenir shop space. I thought, "Where do you eat?", But there was no such information board, and no clerk was found ... A person who seems to be an employee there came out from the back, so don't miss this! When I went to ask in a hurry, I opened the door that made me want to say, "I don't know without guidance!" And was guided to the second floor, and finally I had a meal. However, the room there was so cold that I thought, "Is it a warehouse?", And I asked the clerk who came to the table, "Isn't there heating?" Because the hot tea that has just been poured is getting colder and colder. If you look at the other tables, you'll find that you've already eaten and returned home. Why is it so cold even though it is a used room? While thinking, I finished my meal and went to the souvenir shop. If I had chosen a souvenir shop, tourists would have arrived by bus, and it was crowded all at once, but this time there was only one clerk at the cash register ... Moreover, it seems unfamiliar. When I came here, I had only a bitter smile. I hear that the tourism industry is also difficult due to the corona. I couldn't secure enough manpower, so I went out for the first time in a long time, and when I went out looking forward to it, it was like this.

You can experience it by hand from Kyoto's specialty, Yatsuhashi dough. The freshly made Yatsuhashi is the best! In addition, you can experience various things such as strawberry daifuku, yuba, and making soup stock. Although it is a remote place, there is also a pick-up bus from Hankyu Nishikyogoku Station, and in the case of a municipal bus, it is about a 5-minute walk from the Nishikyogoku Utsukacho bus stop, so you can easily go there.

Nice place and fun activity. I think it is good if you want to explore another area in Kyoto with a cultural experience. Good to come with family or many people because the facility is convenient. The neighborhood looks nice as well.
