★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1870 年（明治3年）日本で最初となる鉄道は、資材を英国から購入し、横浜港に陸揚げして工事が始められた。最初の鉄道が正式に開業したのは1872年10月です。
 In 1870 (Meiji 3), the first railway in Japan was constructed by purchasing materials from the United Kingdom and landing them at Yokohama Port. The first railroad officially opened in October 1872.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 桜木町駅はよく利用しますがイベント『秋の謎解きラリー』に参加して初めて記念碑があると知りました。立派な記念碑でびっくり！
同じようにイベントに参加してる方が多くいました。
日本に鉄道が出来て149年という事でした。
来年で150年と考えるとすごく歴史があるものだと感じます。
他にも桜木町駅周辺には鉄道に関する展示があるので見に行くと身近だと意外と知らない鉄道について楽しく学べると思います。
桜木町駅の新南口から出るとすぐあります。
※Suica専用の改札となります。
I often use Sakuragicho station, but I learned that there is a monument for the first time after participating in the event "Autumn Mystery Solving Rally". I was surprised at the magnificent monument!
Many people participated in the event as well.
It was 149 years since the railway was built in Japan.
Considering that it will be 150 years next year, I feel that it has a very long history.
There are other railway-related exhibits around Sakuragicho Station, so if you go to see them, you will be able to enjoy learning about railways that you may not know.
It is located as soon as you exit from the New South Exit of Sakuragicho Station.
