★ ★ ★ ★ ★ JR桜木町駅に新しくできた改札口「新南口（市役所口）」に隣接するように作られたCIAL桜木町ANNEXの1階に誕生した、旧横濱鉄道歴史展示「旧横ギャラリー」。
鉄道開業時に実際に横浜の地では知っていた蒸気機関車の復元展示を目玉に、当時の鉄道資料や中等客車の再現、双頭レールの展示、信号機の展示、ジオラマなどが多く展示されています。
蒸気機関車は、8:00〜21:00の毎時ちょうどに、開業当時の汽車の発車情景をイメージした、音と光による演出が行われています。
 The Old Yokohama Railway History Exhibition "Old Yoko Gallery" was born on the first floor of the CIAL Sakuragicho ANNEX, which was created adjacent to the new ticket gate "Shin-Minami Exit (City Hall Exit)" at JR Sakuragicho Station.
With the steam locomotive restoration display that was actually known in the area of Yokohama when the railway opened, many railway materials, reproductions of secondary passenger cars, double-headed rails, traffic lights, diorama, etc. are exhibited.
The steam locomotives are produced by sound and light at the exact time of every hour from 8:00 to 21:00, in the image of the departure of the train at the time of opening.

京浜東北線からは行けないので、
かなり迷いました?地下道を降りていく感じ。
今の桜木町は、昔横浜駅（横濱駅）だったらしい。
日本最古の旧国鉄の駅。
110形は日本で1番古い機関車らしい?
鉄道好きにはオススメ?

I don't think there was any directions from Sakuragicho station. The exhibition is very interesting for locals and railroad enthusiasts.

この地に旧横濱駅があった場所というJRにとっては記念となる場所です。以前、展示されている110形蒸気機関車が向かいの道路から見えたので、覗いてみました。 110形蒸気機関車だけではなく、当時の横濱停車場のジオラマやパネル展示などあります。

It is a memorial place for JR, where the old Yokohama station was located here. Previously, I saw the 110 type steam locomotive on display from the opposite road, so I took a peek. Not only the 110 type steam locomotive, but also the diorama and panel display of the Yokohama stop at that time.

【注目】車両展示として「110形蒸気機関車」が展示されています。英国から輸入され、鉄道創業当時、新橋～横濱間を実際に運行していた我が国で最も古い機関車の一つだそうです。
ほかにも横濱停車場の当時の様子がわかるジオラマ展示やパネル展示などあり鉄道の歴史にふれることが出来ます。

Includes a restored steam train engine and passenger car that is over 100 years old and was one of the very first powered locomotives in Japan.
Once more, it’s free! What’s not to like about that?
