So foreign customers are rarely seen in here.
But their Unadon was the best I’ve had in these 3 years!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the eel’s liver and unseasoned eel, or I shall say supper fatty eel. Both were excellent!
As expected, liver has an astringent flavour; chewy part mingle with soft, creamy part. I thought such sharp flavour would overpower the fish, but it didn’t at all! The eel actually helps balance out aftertaste of liver, yet still be able to taste the fish. I like that they provide you another way to eat eels, wasabi with salt or wasabi with soy sauce. Although I’m not sure these are the best way to eat with.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have been eating their unagi for the past 15+ years — my mother and grandmother for over 40 years — and this place beats all others hands down, regardless of delivery, takeout or eat-in. Well worth waiting in line for 30+ minutes minimum for takeouts and re-heating doesn’t change the savory taste.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A bit off the main attraction, though quite close if u come to see sakura at meguro river. I arrived there almost 14.00 and still have to wait for table, it s popular among locals as far as i can see. Sauce is lightly salted and full of smoke aroma. it s smoky bitterness and fresh exceptional natural quality eel (not like those from farm in China) though slightly too much fat for me. But it is surely one specialty unagi place to visit sure sure.
