P	Paul de Bruin on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You like whiskey? Then this is a must go since Yamazaki was named best whiskey inthe world. The best place to taste not only the old but also the new. A fantastic taste experience and possibility because where rlse can you try out these whiskeys for either 100¥a glass for the young ones or 1800¥ for the old ones?
R	Robin Deelen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Got a tip from some folks we met in a bar in Kyoto that this distillery was actually quite close to where we were. Went here without registering our visit, so we could only check out the museum on our own (which was fine!) but if you want a guided tour, be sure to register in advance on the distillery's website. The museum itself is very well set-up with a more historic walkthrough of the origins of the distillery on the first floor and a more in-depth walkthrough of the whiskies on the second floor. Afterwards you can taste up to three whiskies for a very reasonable price (about ¥600 for an 18 year old whisky), compared to what the bottles are selling on the market (which at the time of reading can be over ¥60.000). Definitely recommend this to whisky lovers and people who like good, well set-up museums.
R	Richard Lei on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived in the morning and it seemed like two people had canceled on the paid tour (which usually needs to be booked months in advance) so we hopped on. One of the best museum experiences ever... even for non-whiskey lovers. The staff were extremely professional and all the facilities were remarkable.

The location is easy to get to from Kyoto, only took us 45 minutes and you won’t get lost thanks to the directional signs along the way. Visiting the distillery during autumn is definitely a jaw dropping experience thanks to the scenery. The fall leaves surrounding the distillery gives it a very mystical vibe. Just be prepared to drink a fair bit during the tasting, be sure to stay hydrated and line your stomach before drinking. Would definitely visit the place again. The limited edition loot and bottles makes the trip worthwhile.

This is my fourth visit over the years, and although some rare offerings at the bar have gone, the atmosphere of the place more than makes up for it. Do join the tour if possible, you'll get to see how things are done behind the scene. Do allow at least three hours to slowly enjoy the bar afterwards.

The tasting bar alone makes this place a must-visit for anyone who enjoys drinking whiskey. The tour is highly recommended but can be difficult to get a reservation for if not done far enough in advance. The museum is beautifully done and worth visiting even if you can’t do the tour. There’s not much in the way of rare whiskey to take home but plenty to enjoy while you’re there. I live nearby so visit regularly!
K	Kishikawa Tarz on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful tour starts from here, but everybody should stop at the entrance for sign up or confirming tour reservation. Recommended tour season is around the end of April and October to see cherry blossoms or autumn leaves in the garden of back side of the factory where you go through during the tour. Not easy to join a paid tour that gives you whisky tasting at the end, but try to check the reservation website often since some tourists would change their mind on the day before the tour. Good luck and enjoy famous Japanese whisky!
