★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 谷底にある小くて静謐な神社です。
蒸留所の裏手にあるからか、拝殿内に蒸留樽の姿が見えます。
元は西観音寺というお寺で、明治初期の廃仏毀釈で椎尾神社になったらしいです。
また、昔は境内に椎尾の滝という滝があったらしいです。
今でも沢は在り、初夏には蛍が飛んでいるのが見られます。
ちなみに、沢と一緒に名神のトンネルの外壁も見えます。

It was originally a temple called Saikannonji Temple, and it seems that it became Shiio Shrine after the abolition of Buddha in the early Meiji era.
Also, it seems that there used to be a waterfall called Shiio Falls in the precincts.
There are still swamps now and you can see fireflies flying in early summer.
By the way, you can see the outer wall of the tunnel of Meishin with Sawa.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ サントリーの工場を左右に見ながら道を登ると石の鳥居。
そこから砂利の音と共に俗生から解き放たれ階段を上がり境内へ。
こじんまりとした、自分だけの世界に入って行ける唯一無二の場です。
If you climb the road while looking at the Suntory factory from side to side, you will see a stone torii gate.
From there, with the sound of gravel, you are released from the profane and go up the stairs to the precincts.
It is a unique place where you can enter your own small world.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 椎尾神社の奥に名神高速道路が一部露出しています。緑の外壁が見えるだけなんですが、不思議な景観です。椎尾神社の写真はたくさんあるのに、緑の名神を誰も投稿しないので、２点入れます。
A part of the Meishin Expressway is exposed in the back of Shiio Shrine. You can only see the green outer wall, but it is a mysterious landscape. There are many pictures of Shiio Shrine, but no one posts the green Meishin, so I'll put two.

が奥に向かって走っている。受付の前を通り過ぎ、
緩い坂道を突き当たりまで行くと椎尾神社の鳥居が
迎えてくれる。後ろは山、前は工場、横に施設があ
るが民家、住宅の類は一切無い。近所の人が散歩や
通り抜けで訪れることも無さそうで、ベンチ、遊具
が置いてある町の神社とは明らかに雰囲気が違う。
砂利道の参道を進むと野鳥の鳴き声だけが聞こえて
来る。山陽本線の踏切音も遠い向こうの出来事の様
。ひなびた社殿と周囲の鬱蒼とした森。俗世界とは
一線を画すが、特別ミステリアスという訳でも無い
。そこがちょうどいい感じで実に落ち着ける。在り
そうで無い神社。一見の価値はある。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 静謐な境内を進み、石段を登ると真正面に拝殿があります。JR線踏切から一直線に北へ伸びる道路と境内参道の様子から、近現代に立ち並んだ他の建物よりもはるかに以前からここに鎮座されていることがみてとれます。
現在は伏流してしまっていますが、山あいに滴る綺麗な水の流れのもとに祀られた(神社となったのは明治期のようですが)と想像すると、この場所がいかに特別か感じられるように思いました。
付近に参拝者向けの駐車スペースは見当たりませんでした。

From the road extending north from the JR railroad crossing and the approach to the precincts, it can be seen that it has been enshrined here much earlier than other buildings lined up in modern times.
It's underground now, but when you imagine that it was enshrined under the beautiful stream of water dripping in the mountains (it seems that it became a shrine in the Meiji era), it feels like how special this place is. I thought I could do it.
No parking space for worshipers was found nearby.
