水際から山頂近くまで大小各種の石を立て、水辺にせまる岩山の姿が造り出されています。
作庭記に書かれている「枯山水の様」の実例と言われているそうです。
正直なところ、案内板が無ければ軽くスルーしてしまうくらい分かりにくいものではありますが、案内板を見てじっくり観察していると、雅な気持ちに浸ることが出来ました。
毛越寺庭園は、心静かに歩くことが出来るのでとても印象に残っています。

The Motsuji Garden is very impressive because you can walk quietly.
