元は一ノ関藩田村家藩邸の中門で、大正11年に寄進されたそうです。
門左手には
「特別史跡 毛越寺境内」
「特別名勝 毛越寺庭園」
「世界遺産 毛越寺」
の3つの額が置かれています。後から置かれた世界遺産の額は金色の文字で書かれています。
重要無形民俗文化財にも指定されています。
There is an admission ticket issuing office at the entrance of Motsuji Temple.
It was originally the central gate of the Tamura family residence of the Ichinoseki clan, and was donated in 1918.
On the left side of the gate
"Special historic site Motsuji Temple precincts"
"Special Place of Scenic Motsuji Garden"
"World Heritage Motsuji Temple"
There are three foreheads. The amount of the World Heritage Site placed later is written in gold letters.
It is also designated as an important intangible folk cultural property.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2020年12月 人生初の平泉めぐりは冬の早朝。 まだ門が開いていない時間に訪れて「世界遺産」の雰囲気だけ頂きました。 このあと、歩道に積もった雪の上を歩き、冬を実感しながら駅の方へ向かいました。（冬は散策しない方が無難かな）
December 2020: The first tour of Hiraizumi in my life is early winter morning. I visited when the gate was not open yet and received only the atmosphere of "World Heritage". After that, I walked on the snow on the sidewalk and headed toward the station while feeling the winter. (It is safer not to take a walk in winter)
