Trek Store Roppongi

I've come to the Trek Store at Roppongi three times and yet never have I been approached by any of the staff. Having owned a Trek before, I've saved up for another and was actually ready to buy but I have questions to ask before I purchase. So you can imagine my disappointment at not even being approaced at Trek Roppongi. Three months ago when I found the store I came in. looked around, for a few minutes and left; it was a few minutes before closing and I thought someone would come up to me and say so. Last month I came again, looked around for a whole 5 minutes at the collection, and still got no attention from the staff who just stood behind the cash register. But yesterday was unbelievable: I went and took a look at the price tags on many of the bikes that interested me. One of the Caucasion English-Speakers was there with two other staff, one of whom was servicing a bike. After the English-speaking staff was finished handling a visitor I thought it was my turn to receive a friendly hello. But instead she approached another guy who suddenly appeared at the door with a Trek bike needing a part. My question is, what does it take to get service or attention at Trek Roppongi? I look Asian like most of the visitors who come in, I see other visitors being greeted, and no I don't dress like a bum. Do I need to come in wearing my cycling shorts next time so they see my "cyclists' thighs"? Japanese shops are usually helpful and ready to answer any inquiries, but Trek Roppongi is actually less-friendly than local bike shops in Australia and Singapore! I would like some tips now from anyone, so next time I come into Trek Roppongi (if I haven't bought elsewhere) I can actually get treated like the potential buyer that I am. Thanks.

Unhelpful and untrustworthy staff. I called before coming in to get a tire repaired, I told them what kind of bike I had and they confirmed that they could repair it. However, upon arriving, they then told me they couldn't fix my tire. Instead of apologizing they referred me to bike shop that was closed and then just stared at me me while saying nothing and waited for me to leave.

Used to get good service there around 5 years ago. Been a loyal customer for all this time. Staff is different and service is mediocre now. Dropped off my bike for a check up that was charged 15,000 yen. Bike broke down 4 times in two months after that nonetheless. Including the very next day after picking it up. Has actually put me in a few dangerous situations. Incompetent staff that just charges for useless parts replacement without actually test riding the bike. Not recommended at all.

Totally,I rank them a 10 point. Thus my bottle cage was stolen when I going to a group riding last two weeks ago. To find a same xxx carbon bottle cage,I went to the shop in Roppongi. It was a little bit late in the afternoon and the shop was about to be closed. But the stuff there (name plates Haneda Mz)was very friendly . Well services and fluently communication. You know that It is very “ famous “ that bad treatment of Japanese pro cycling equipment shop stuff shows to those “first time-visitors “with out purchasing a new bike. I was always believed in your US standard manufacturing.and also your magnificent service. Good job everyone in TREK Roppongi . Thanks a lot. Have nice days ever.

My wife and I I both have gently used Trek Bikes that are 4 and 5 years old respectively, and we sought to get the bikes tuned up at this store. After a 8000 Yen consultation fee, we were told it would cost 50,000-70,000 Yen for any repairs to either bike (100,000-140,000 Yen total for both), and the staff encouraged us to buy new bikes. We later had both bikes tuned up to great working order for less than 4000 Yen at a nearby cycle shop. I have owned multiple Trek bikes and out of respect for the company and the selection available at this location I give this store two stars, but the fees for repair are exorbitant and perhaps dishonest, as based on our experience the staff will just push you to purchase a new bike rather than repair. You are probably fine buying a new bike here given the selection, but will be charged top dollar for your purchase and I would be concerned about follow up service on your bike from this location.

Amazing service at this store! I have a custom-made Trek Emonda bike that was built by another well-known Tokyo bike chain store. From the start, the bike made a lot of creaking and other noises which the other store was never able to fix. On a complete whim, I came to this store to ask their opinion since the frame was a Trek. Despite not even buying the bike at this store, the staff interrupted their busy work schedule and spent 45 minutes with me and the bike, including a full disassembly and inspection of the bottom bracket! The mechanic in the store expertly diagnosed and fixed all the issues and returned the bike to me in better than brand new condition. And there was no fee for all this. Where else in the world can you take a product you bought at a different store, get expert support, and not be charged anything?! This review illustrates the kind of excellent service I think you could expect from this store.

Completely ignored by the staff despite saying hello walking to the counter so seeing a few older reviews saying the same thing , so nothings changed. Nice looking store seemed a good range with road, urban and electric bikes

Still thinking of buying the Trek FX Sport 5 but the person who helped me was very kind to explain.
