★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 遠野物語に出てくる老婆(❔)の悲しいお話。ある日若い女の子が神隠しに遭います。見つからないままに数年が過ぎました。すると、ある風の強い日、一人の老婆が現れます。よく見るとあの神隠しに遭った娘の変わり果てた姿でした。一体何が起こったというのでしょうか？
市内松崎町の遠野バイパス「すき家」から、北の方向に500㍍行った所に「のぼりと橋」と言う橋があり、そこから100㍍程離れた川岸に石碑が立てられています。サムトの婆よけの石柱だそうですが、魔除けみたいな扱いをされているのは気の毒な話だと思います。何を暗示しているのか色々と考えられますが、六角牛山の山の主によって神隠しに遭ったそうですから、被害者な訳ですよね。しかも時代は明治維新前後と言いますから最近の、しかも実話だそうです。河原のそばにあるのも気になるところです。
石碑は灌木に囲まれていて、よく見えない状態になっているのも悲しいものがあります。
