★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ティー・ブレイク・スポット。?☕遠野物語には「猿ヶ石川には河童が多く住めり。その中に太郎河童と言う河童がおり、集落の女たちが洗濯に淵に来ると、水面から顔を出し…」とあります。この辺りは昔から、柳やクルミの木が多く、その木陰が作る薄暗い淵だったようです。
花巻方面から国道283号線バイパス直前の光興寺橋の手前に左に入る小路があります。そこをしばらく行くと、こんもりとした林があり、東家や花壇があり、ちょっとした淵があります。岩の上には坪のようなものを抱えた河童がちょこんと座っています。季節によって様々な花が楽しめます。桜・サクラソウ・ポピー・紫陽花等々…。休憩するにはいい所かもです。

This area has long had many willows and walnut trees, and it seems to have been a dim shade created by its shade.
There is an alley from the direction of Hanamaki to the left in front of Genko-ji Temple Bridge just before Route 283 bypass. If you go there for a while, there is a lush forest, an east house and a flower bed, and a small fence. On the rock there is a Kappa holding something like Tsubo. You can enjoy various flowers depending on the season. Cherry blossoms, primroses, poppies, hydrangeas etc ... It may be a nice place to take a break.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2021年5月11日に訪れました。現在は、公園のように整備され、淵ではなく、池といった感じになっています。太郎という河童の棲みかだったそうです。言い伝えでは、淵に洗濯や水仕事に訪れる女性をかどわかして、河童の子どもを孕ませて、産ませたとか…。産まれた子どもには、水掻きがあったので、殺して樽に詰め込んで埋葬したそうです。
結構、怖い話として伝承されているのだと驚きました。
