Though it was supposedly to be thin-battered style, serving on a metal cooling-grill (instead of tenshi paper) seemed to be avoiding visual observation of the control of 'oiliness' at the end of the meal. Nevertheless, the course was decent and produce was fresh. Seating was a bit tight and not so cosy. Get your concierge to reserve and communicate any dietary restriction, as they don't seem to speak English, but have English menu for ordering. Try to aim for Tuesday to Saturday reservation as their closing days could be Sunday and Monday. Bring cash too.

Michelin ⭐️⭐️ recommended! Only 15 seats available, make sure call and make reservation before you go! Very fresh seafood tempura and veggies too! But very pricy, about USD200 per person. It worth to try, at least one time :-)

Good tempura meal. Rated one Michelin star. The batter was thin, light and crisp and seafood fresh. I din like some of the the items such as chestnut but the kisu fish and anago were amazing. There is English menu where u select 3 courses. Worth a try.

Wonderful tempura with thin and crispy batter. The tempuras were cooked by the chef and his son and they are very friendly and speak some English. English menu is also available. Reservation is essential.

I was invited by a Japanese friend, and I must admit that initially I was a bit skeptical because I considered it quite expensive for just tempura. However I must admit that after trying it, money was very well spent! Fukamachi takes tempura to a completely different dimension: sophistication, creativity and innovation (at least for me, as a European). I strongly suggest trying it, because Japanese food is much more than sushi and sashimi or ramen!!!!

One of the best Tempura places to go while in Tokyo. Father and 2 sons run the restaurant, with the father leading the team. One of the sons and the father will do the cooking of the tempura. Every item is cooked perfectly with the lightest, crispiest batter on it. Great service and amazingly very filling. Have been there for lunch and dinner, and both times it was an incredible dining experience.

Still my fav tempura restaurant in Tokyo. The shop owner and his son are very friendly and they speak English too. All ingredients are so fresh that you don’t feel the super thin crispy batter outside. My all time advice for tempura restaurant is the real experience of tempura happens when you enjoy it at counter seats so make sure you book a table in advance ?. Highly recommended for everyone.

This is a 1 Michelin star tempura restaurant. Limited seats so reservation at least several days ahead is recommended. I went there for lunch. Uni tempura was fascinating. The batter was very light and crispy. All ingredients were fresh and of top quality. Would definitely come back again!
