★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A tempura institution at Nihonbashi Bridge. Nothing fancy. Just good quality tempura meals for a reasonable price (my Tempura Teshoku cost me Y1200 while my daughter's Tempura and Maguro-don Teshoku cost Y1500. You order your meal with the front desk lady on the ground floor (i don't know if they have an English menu...), get your meal (and drink) tickets and proceed to one of 3 seating floors (the 1st two floors you get to sit at the counter and observe the chef at work, the 3rd floor is just table seating). If your meal proves not to be enough food...additional tempura can be ordered on a piece by piece basis. There may be better tempura restaurants out there, but this place will provide you with an authentic tempura experience in what looks like a long standing venue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is amazing! I got a 5 piece tempura set with a sashimi bowl on the side for 14,00 yen. The tempura is fried fresh and it given to you one by one and the sashimi bowl was melt it your mouth delicious. The tuna was warm but fresh over a bed of seaweed rice. Server and chef were kind and we were the only tourist surrounded by locals. Recommend!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tematsu, next to Nihonbashi, is a superb tempura restaurant. The seafood is excellently prepared and perfectly cooked. Even the vegetable tempura are top-notch. The lunch is especially good value for money.
