No crowds! A little off the beaten path, barely any people. Lots of stairs, located in a nice park. Beautiful spot to walk around and get away from people for a while!

A little out of the way and smaller shrine than those around the area but a nice way to escape the crowds. A shrine dedicated to the first of the great Japanese warlords, Oda Nobunaga. Unfortunately no history written in English but does provide a nice view of Kyoto city from the top. Also segways nicely to Koto-in if you're traveling to/from there.

Great view from the top of the hill. The shrine is amazing and beautiful! A decent amount of hiking if you go from front entrance to the back entrance (leads to houses around the neighborhood). There's quite a good amount of stairs. It's quiet and you can hear all the birds chirping. There's a small area at the top where you can sit! Not sure if you can eat up there but it's a nice place to take a break. Sadly there's a few areas being constructed so it's a little jarring.

Really nice place. It’s not too busy but has beautiful views. It’s a nice brisk hike, not too tough. Good cherry blossom spot in spring too!

You know what I like? Stairs. Perfect way to get a workout, and whooboy does this shrine have stairs. If I didn't know better I would say it was dedicated to the god of cardio but that made the experience even more fun! Small but like others have said there is some nice history if you can read Japanese.
