Beautiful green space and park with lots for trees. A hidden gem as it’s not as packed with tourists especially in the fall foliage season.

This is a wonderful place attached to the UNESCO world heritage site of Shimogamo shrine. It's a shame that some of the land was used to build apartments

Tadasu no Mori, which literally means "Forest of Correction," is a sacred grove associated with an important Shinto sanctuary complex known in Japanese as the Kamo-jinja, situated near the banks of the Kamo River just north of where the Takano River joins the Kamo River in northeast Kyoto. The deep green of this forest provides a great sense of tranquility. This long stretch of path in the forest is much favored by the locals of this area. You may want to stroll around the nature with stram running through all the way. Especially early in the morning when the sun light leaking through the shade of leaves called " komorebi " is something spectacular. one of the greatest spots to stay cool in the heat of summer season. You might also be able to see hotaru ( fireflies ) in early June. ( Trans-word+ : TGM Kyoto )

It's a beautiful wild forest that you wouldn't expect to find just near the center of the city

Very nice place for watching sakura along the river. Good place to walk and spend leisure time. I enjoyed. There aren't any facilities, but close to main street with shops.

I visited here on 15th May 2019 to see ‘Aoi Matsuri’ parade. When entering the forest, young green leaves wrapped me. Fresh air, shade of trees and a small stream downward made it easier to sit and wait for the parade for one and a half-hours. Pay seats were at the other side of the street but this free space was very enough for me. Around 11:40, the parade arrived at the forest and continued for about 30min. It was good opportunity to witness traditional Japanese rituals. Besides, I noticed that tender green of this season is very adorable and refreshing while it’s not so featured comparing with spring cherry blossoms and autumn colored leaves.
