★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 浄土宗のお寺で藤原公経が鎌倉時代の1224年に衣笠山の麓に建立した堂宇で、西園寺と称した。室町時代に足利義満が金閣寺を建立する際に衣笠山を所望したため、上京区の室町に移り、さらに天正18年(1590年)に現在地に移転したとのこと。本堂の篇額は西園寺公望の筆による。ふだんは訪れる人少なくひっそりとしています。
A temple of the Jodo sect, Kosuke Fujiwara was built at the foot of Mt. Kinugasa in 1224 during the Kamakura period, and was called Saionji. Yoshimitsu Ashikaga wanted Mt. Kinugasa when he built Kinkakuji in the Muromachi period, so he moved to Muromachi in Kamigyo Ward and moved to his current location in 1890 (1590). The volume of the main hall is based on the brush of Saionji. Usually, there are few visitors and it is quiet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 寺町通り沿いにあるお寺の一つで、かなり立派です。西園寺家にゆかりのあるお寺で、本殿には最後の元老公望公の扁額が掲げられています。そのほか弁才天などもあります。
It is one of the temples along Teramachi Street and it is quite impressive. It is a temple with a connection to the Saionji house, and the main hall holds the amount of money of the last old public appreciator. There is also Benzaiten etc.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ライトのスイッチを押したら、お地蔵さんが照らされ拝むことが出来ました。
庭はかなり造園それていて、たくさんの駐車場になってました。
色々制作する人がお寺の関係者にいるのかな？と思いました。
When I pressed the light switch, Jizo was illuminated and I was able to worship.
The garden was quite landscaping and had a lot of parking lots.
I wonder if there are people involved in the temple who make various things. I thought.
