★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cute little place, charming husband and wife team. Reservations highly recommended, we didn’t have any but they took us and said we’d have to be out in 50 minutes, which was fine. Enjoyed every piece, we got 10 piece omakase for 5,000¥ each a bit pricey I’d say. Got a nice glass of good sake for 750¥. Lots of locals eating there. They tried hard to explain things in English and there is an English menu but without prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Omakase throughout our Kyoto stay. It's not a modern type omakase with creative toppings but the chef's mastery and fresh ingredients make this restaurant a hidden gem. My favorite pieces were the saba, seared squid and uni.
It's located near Kyoto city hall - The venue is tiny so reservations are a must. The hostess spoke enough English to explain to us how the sushi was prepared and also gave us an English menu. Highly recommended.
