尚、岩の傾斜と同じ角度で傾いてる杉の木が一本生えてて、クスッとなった。

大岩は東京都の天然記念物になっている。この壁のような岩は断層面の大露顕なんだとか。
2020年9月に青梅線奥多摩駅前から奥多摩湖までの約10kmの旧青梅街道『奥多摩むかし道』の全行程をじてんしゃで走ってみました。
「奥多摩むかし道」は、旧青梅街道と呼ばれていた道で、氷川から小河内に達するまでの道です。この街道は、小菅から大菩薩峠を越えて甲府に至る甲州裏街道で、甲州街道より8kmほど近道であったそうです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is significant due to an inclined rock. The rock is not really immediately interesting but the inclination and fault lines and color are all interesting. I wish I had gottem some geological info before coming. Besides the rock, the view is only remotely interesting and the temple ia nothing really special. But it is a nice treat to stop over and enjoy many things beaidea the visit to ths dam. Only thing is to be careful on how to get there. The way is tricky. Google map shows the location but no road. So use street view and go forward or back to know how to get there.
