★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 夏の盆休みの午後に行きました。五大堂から住宅街を歩いて15分位、最後に急でうねった坂道を登ると無料の展望台があります。手前に神社に登る急な階段がありますが、これは展望台とは繋がっていませんので要注意！、私たちは無駄な汗をかいてしまいました。展望台には簡素な展望デッキと東屋があます。夏のため、草木が鬱蒼としているので、鉄骨の展望デッキ？に登らないと松島は一望出来ませんが、デッキ上からの眺めは良くて、また私達夫婦以外他に誰もおらず、完全な穴場です。駐車場は無いですが、行く価値はあると思います。
 I went to the afternoon of the summer Bon holiday. About 15 minutes on foot from Godaido in the residential area, and finally climb the steeply winding slope to the free observatory. There is a steep staircase to the shrine in front of you, but be careful as this is not connected to the observatory! , We sweated in vain. The observatory has a simple observatory deck and an eastern house. Because of the summer, the vegetation is dense, so is it a steel-framed observation deck? You can't see Matsushima without climbing, but the view from the deck is good, and there is no one other than our husband and wife, so it's a perfect little-known spot. There is no parking, but I think it's worth the trip.

トイレはありません。
A viewing platform where you can climb a fairly steep slope.
It was cloudy, so next time I want to go on a sunny day!
There is a toya where you can take a break.
There is no toilet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 展望台の入り口が分かりづらいけど、コンクリートの急な坂を登って行きます。景色は最高です。
It's hard to see the entrance to the observatory, but I'm going up a steep concrete slope. The scenery is the best.

１月に行ったので急坂が凍っており、滑りそうで怖かったです。ただ、人もおらず天気もよかったため景観を独占できました。

It is the best spot to see the sea of Matsushima.
Since I went there in January, the steep slope was frozen and I was scared because it seemed to slip. However, because there were no people and the weather was nice, I was able to monopolize the scenery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to watch the sun set on the islands or weather change. You can see quite a bit of the waterfront and islands from here. I think it's the second best view of Matsushima Bay after Saigyo Modoshi no Matsu Park. If you come to Matsushima Station, visit here on your way to Zuiganji Temple by taking a back road. The observation deck itself is quite small so only a few people can fit at a time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walk up a steep road past some houses, (road is opposite the annex for the hotel) and then up some steps. There’s a metal viewing platform that has some amazing views of the islands.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I guess not many people know this place as it's devoid of tourists when I visited. You'd have to climb a little bit through the slope to get here, but the view from above makes it worth the while. The observation deck is made of steel and frankly speaking I feel it a bit scary as it's a bit inclined.
One interesting bit is that there's a monument about poem from a British poet about Matsushima.
Side note: sunrise would be cool from this place.
