★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a national treasure site situated just next to the jetty when you alight from the Matsushima excursion ferry ride. No entrance fee is required. The red bridges connect you to the temple and you'll have to walk on the planks as the bridges are not fully covered. Apparently it closes at 5pm. You'll get a good view of the bay from there. Highly recommended!
