★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small restaurant, with traditional Kyoto cuisine. Very delicate taste and delicious dishes. Specialized in Japanese buckwheat noodles (Soba). Small shrimp (sakura ebi) tempura is delicious and the soba soup with crab meat is a must in winter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely food especially the tiny shrimps tempura! Also moderately priced. Great lunch spot if you’re walking in the area sightseeing- authentic feel, not touristy. Worth a try for sure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped here for dinner and got the hot soba set. It was delicious though could be better, it did really warm up our bodies though against the windy Kyoto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I found Senkaku to be very authentic Japanese food. The soba was wonderful and about midway through our meal they brought out a pot of the liquid from the soba noodles which are made fresh. I would go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful surprise. Michelin recommended. Delicate cold soba with baby shrimp tempura. Easy meal in a town hard to find a quick quality fix. Reasonable at 1500 yen
