★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 曹洞宗、楊柳山。龍泉院の末寺。元亀2年(1571)開山。沖野城跡にある。
この一帯は、奈良時代に陸奥国分寺を中心とした町割りで条里制が敷かれた所という。昔から屋敷や田畑が南北に碁盤の目のように整備され、二の坪や三の坪といった地名が残されていた。城跡にちなむ地名も多い。
清涼寺には観音堂があり、江戸時代の名取郡誌にはここが仙台三十三観音二十七番札所であると書かれているが、現在は飯田の満蔵寺にある。
江戸時代の和算学者の碑がふたつ並んでいる。関流算術の丹野清晴と吉田流算術の丹野村晴で、二人の祖先の丹野善右衛門は国分氏と伊達氏に仕え、この寺に墓がある。

This area is said to be the place where the Jori system was laid out in the town division centering on Mutsu Kokubunji during the Nara era. From olden times, mansions and fields were maintained in the north and south like a grid pattern, and the place names such as Ninotsubo and Sannotsubo were left. There are many places named after the castle ruins.
There is a Kannon temple in Seiryo-ji Temple, and the Natori-gun magazine of the Edo period says that this is Sendai 33 Kannon 27th Fudasho, but it is now located in Manzoji Temple in Iida.
There are two monuments of Wasan scholars from the Edo period. Kiyoharu Tanno of Seki-ryu and Haru Tanno-mura of Yoshida-ryu are two ancestors of Zenemon, who serves Kokubun and Date, and has a tomb at this temple.
