成田山国分寺跡へ参ろうと神門前についたとき、西方に塔の相輪が見えたので、そちらへ歩いていくと素敵な多宝塔ありました。
お墓を前に撮影しました。

「みさぶらひ御笠と申せ宮城野の木の下露は雨にまされり」（古今和歌集）
古今和歌集のこの歌が「木の下」の地名の由来らしい。
松尾芭蕉も仙台市内を案内してもらった大淀三千風からそのように説明を受けたようで、奥の細道に次のように記している。
『日影ももらぬ松の林に入て、爰を木の下と云とぞ。昔もかく露ふかければこそ、「みさぶらひみかさ」とはよみたれ。』
とにかく、現在の仙台市若林区あたりには、日の光も漏れることがない松林が広がっていて、そこは歌枕「木の下」であるとされていた。
場所的には、陸奥国分寺の周辺とのこと。
もともと一般名詞的に「木の下」を用いたところ、後生の関係者によって無理やり場所を比定されて地名となってしまった、ように思える。

Anyway, around the present Wakabayashi Ward in Sendai City, there is a pine forest where the sunlight does not leak, and it was said that it was the Utamakura "Under the Tree".
In terms of location, it is around Mutsu-Kokubunji.
Originally, when "Kinoshita" was used as a general noun, it seems that the place was forcibly determined by the people involved in the later generations and became a place name.
