四国を平定した豊臣秀吉が行った太閤検地の縄を埋めたと伝わっている場所です。
昔、この祠は、野津古墳で太閤検地に用いた縄を埋めた場所に塚を作って三本の松を植えたため、三本松と呼んだと言われています。松は今でも三本あります。
野津古墳と書きましたが、呼び名としては三本松神社がメジャーらしいです。ここを掘ると梵字の刻まれた石が多数発見できるそうです。
なお、平安時代以降、牛が重宝されていたことから、野塚は牛の塚ではないかという説もあります。近くに「牛堂」の地名があり、考え合わせると興味深いものがあります。農耕の神の牛頭天王に係るものとも考えられています。

It is said that Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who settled Shikoku, buried the rope in the Taiko kenchi.
In the olden days, this shrine is said to have been called Sanbonmatsu because it made a mound and planted three pine trees in the place where the rope used for the Taiko kenchi was buried in the Nozu Kofun. There are still three pine trees.
I wrote it as Nozu Kofun, but it seems that Sanbonmatsu Shrine is a major name. If you dig here, you can find many stones with the carved sword.
There is also a theory that Nozuka is a cow mound because cows have been useful since the Heian period. There is a place name of "Ushido" nearby, which is interesting when you think about it. It is also thought to be related to Gozu Tenno, the god of agriculture.
