★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 安居院流唱導で有名な安居院の流れをくむ浄土真宗のお寺。平安末期～中世にかけて隆盛を極めたとのことですが、今はひっそりとした街中の小さなお寺さんで、中にも立ち入れないようでした。なお往時の安居院は、もう少し西南寄りの大宮通寺之内下ル付近にあったとのことです。

平安時代末期頃に安居院（あぐい）として創建されたが、戦乱により焼失しました。その後、文禄2年（1593年）、僧明円が安居院を再建し、名を西法寺と改めて真宗寺院としたものである。
It is a temple of the Jodo sect Honganji school in Shincho, Kamigyo Ward, and it is a temple that forms the Aguiin style of changdao.
It was built as Agui in the late Heian period, but it was destroyed by fire due to the war. After that, in the 2nd year of Bunroku (1593), the Buddhist priest Enmei rebuilt the Yasui-in Temple and renamed it Saihoji Temple to Shinshu Temple.
