Sakamoto Ryoma (1836-1867) was an activist and thinker in the Meiji Restoration era in Japan. The eight policies he put forward in the ship, which emphasized the return of power to the emperor's court, and envisaged the establishment of a new state power system centered on the emperor, also became an important guideline for the Meiji government to carry out the Meiji Restoration Movement.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この坂道は慶応3年(1867年)11月18日、海援隊士や陸援隊士らによる坂本龍馬と中岡慎太郎の葬列が通った「幕末志士葬送の道」とのことで、幕末大好きな彼女の希望で来ました。
二年坂から霊名神社に向かう細道なのですが、坂がめちゃくちゃ急でしんどいので覚悟してください。彼女も幕末パワーがないとムリって息上がってました(笑)
海援隊士や陸援隊士の方々は坂本龍馬、中岡慎太郎のお二方の棺を担いでこの坂を上ったとのことですが、相当キツかったと思います。
On November 18, 1867, this slope was the "Funeral Procession of the Bakumatsu Shishi", which was the funeral procession of Ryoma Sakamoto and Shintaro Nakaoka by Kaientai and Land Supporters. I came at her request.

坂を上るにつれて勾配がきつくなり
最後は登山に近いくらいの勾配となる。
ここを大柄な龍馬を背負って上った
志士は大変だったろうなぁなどと
思いに耽りながら登った。

京都護国神社近くのある坂｡西はニ年坂〜東の維新の道迄を東西に走る坂｡急な東に登る坂｡車では無理。途中に石柱碑が建つ｡
●実際に龍馬の棺桶が運ばれた道｡龍馬の人徳だろうか､以前から長州藩士の多数の墓碑があった地に坂道を通って埋葬されたようだ。維新直後に多数の亡き志士の供養に護国神社がおかれた｡
何故か悲しい命名の坂｡死人が通った道だ｡龍馬が歩いた坂ではない｡ただ女房のお龍は棺桶の共をしたろうし､墓参りにも此の坂を幾度か行来きしたであろう｡「お龍坂」でも良かったかと考える｡

A slope near Kyoto Gokoku Shrine. A slope that runs from Ninen-zaka to the eastern Ishin-no-michi in the west. A slope that climbs steep east. It is impossible to drive. A stone pillar monument is built on the way.
● The road where Ryoma's casket was actually carried. Perhaps it was Ryoma's human virtue, it seems that he was buried through a slope in the place where there were many tombstones of the Choshu clan. Immediately after the restoration, Gokoku Shrine was set up as a memorial service for many dead scholars.
A slope with a sad name for some reason. It's a road that the dead went through. It's not the slope that Ryoma walked. However, the dragon of his wife would have shared a coffin, and he would have visited this slope several times to visit the grave. ¡I think it was okay to have "Oryuzaka".
