★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 電車の本数が少ない。１時間に１～２本でまばらなダイヤで使いにくい。仙台圏なのだから20分ヘッドくらいで走らせてもいいのでは？グランディでイベント時にも少ない本数と路線バスの乗り継ぎで県外からの来場者も不満そうです。
 There are few trains. It is difficult to use with one or two sparse diamonds per hour. Is it okay to run with about 20 minutes head because it is in Sendai area? Visitors from outside of the prefecture seem to be dissatisfied because of the small number of buses and the transfer of route buses at the event.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ JR東北本線・利府～岩切駅区間運転の列車が多いので、仙台駅までの直通運転は朝のうち・夕方以降のみです。
運行本数は、利府～岩切間は単線なので多くありません(ほとんど、２両・ワンマン運転です)。
岩切駅前～利府駅・利府町内の病院・役場への移動なら、利府町民バスもあります。

東北線 岩切駅より、在来線だけでなく新幹線の電車基地というか車輌基地がある新利府駅を経て、利府駅に至る。? 駅前は、バス路線が複数あり、本塩釜駅方面も行けるらしい。JRの駅としては、行き止まりだし便数が多いわけでもないので、便利とは言えないし、仙台市のベッドタウンでもあるので、のどかというほどでもない。…うーん ちょっと雰囲気がつかみづらい。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 支線として始発駅であり、宮城で大きなイベントやライブなどをやる場合に利用することがある。毎回、大きなライブがある時でも本数がそんなに増えないので駅は大混乱に陥る。また、駅からライブが行われるスタジアムも微妙に距離がある為、バス利用となるが、これがまたいつも混み合って大変。ライブには行きたいものの、帰りの辛かった思いから二の足を踏むことがあるので、何とか利便性を良くして欲しい。普段はどうか分からないのでたまに来るやつの戯言だけど…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 信越本線横川駅などと同じく頭端式ホームのため、車止めの後ろを通ってスムーズに2番線に向かうことができます。
現在この駅で2番線を使う機会があるのかどうかはわかりませんが...。
As with Yokokawa Station on the Shin-Etsu Main Line, it is a head-end platform, so you can pass behind the bollard and head for Line 2 smoothly.
I don't know if I have a chance to use Line 2 at this station right now ...
