やや海とは離れておりだが観光客で賑わっている駅ではなく、むしろ閑散とした駅。

駅から野間大坊までは、徒歩15分ぐらい。
野間駅は、全ての列車が停車します。
名鉄の知多新線は、線内は特急も急行も各駅停車になります。
全線が単線で、比較的距離がある為にこのような運行体系になってます。
だから、名古屋方面から来る場合は、特急利用が便利ですね。
知多新線は、午前10時以降は一時間あたり、特急、急行、普通(各駅停車)列車が、各1本ずつ走ります。
なお、野間駅周辺は、これといった繁華街や観光スポットは無いので、前述の野間大坊や南知多ビーチランドなどの施設は、全て海の近くにあります。
