★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 毎日のように近くを通っていたのですが、こんな場所に城跡があるとは知りませんでした。
大室城は白井長尾氏の長尾憲景によって築かれ、家臣の牧和泉守、牧弾正が城代をつとめていたといいます。
しかし、所領問題で彼等は北条氏に反発。北条氏直の命を受けた金山城主、由良成繁の圧迫によって、城を明け渡す羽目となりました。
その後は幾人もの戦国武将が城主となり、江戸時代には、前橋藩主酒井重忠の家臣である石川氏が城を守ったということです。
本丸跡は神社になっていますが、境内には東神沢川に架かっていたという太鼓橋が復元されていました。
また、この地域から太平洋戦争に出征して散華した方々の、印象的な慰霊碑が建っていました。
石碑の正面には「花の命をかけし男にアア父母」という句が大書され「大空を引き裂いて命を捨てた」…無惨な文章が刻まれていました。
裏面には一人一人の名前が…。こういう碑は丹念に読んであげることが供養になると思います(;_;)/~~~
As I did everyday I went through near, but I did not know that there are castle sites in such a place.
Omuro castle was built by Shirai Nagao's Nagao Kencho, and his vassal Mamoru Izumi Mamoru and Maki Maki were the castle eras.
However, due to the stakeholder problem they repel Mr. Hojo. It was the opportunity to surrender the castle due to the pressure of the Jinshan castle owner Shigeru Yura who received the honor of Mr. Hojo.
After that, several Sengoku warlords became castle owners, and during the Edo period, Mr. Ishikawa, the vassal of Maebashi lord Sakai Shigetada, protected the castle.
Honmaru trace has become a shrine, but the temple towering bridge over the East Kamisawa River was restored in the precincts.
There was also an impressive memorial monument of people who went out to the Pacific War from this area and spread.
In front of the stone monument, the phrase "flower's life is put on life and a mother's father mother" is outlined, "I tore up the expanse by tearing out the sky" ... a wretched sentence was engraved.
Each person's name on the back .... I think that reading such a monument carefully will become a donation (; _;) / ~~~

長尾憲景の属城で牧和泉守、同彈正らの城と思われる。
It is located to the west of Omuro Park. There is a shrine in the main enclosure. There was a water digger on the earthworks.
It is a castle belonging to Norikei Nagao, and is thought to be the castle of Mamoru Maki Izumi and Hisahide.
