Although it is a reconstruction, it is a magnificent turret with a strong presence at the entrance of the Honmaru ruins.

Ueda Castle and the Sanada clan have a strange fate. That's why it's popular. Ueda Castle was destroyed by the policy of the Meiji government in 1897, and the building was sold to the private sector. The south and north turrets were relocated to the Yukaku in the suburbs of the neighborhood. In the Showa era, the place that was resold to Meguro Gajoen was bought back with the donation of the citizens, and after the war, it was relocated to its current location. The yaguramon remained lost until very recently. Only the west turret was kept in its position since the Edo period. The yaguramon was restored to its current position in 1994. Finally, the appearance as a castle ruin was prepared. The restoration of the turret gate and Masugata Koguchi, which connect the south turret and the north turret, made an impression of the profoundness of the castle. Unfortunately, the remains and restored buildings of the Ueda Castle Ruins that are left now are not the ones that were built by the Sanada clan. The Tokugawa clan won the battle of Sekigahara, and the Toyotomi clan given by Sanada Masayuki and Nobuyoshi (Yukimura) was defeated. As a result, Ueda Castle was completely destroyed and the moat was almost completely reclaimed as a disposition of the Tokugawa clan against the loser.

It is one of the highlights of Ueda Castle Ruins.

The most prominent place in Ueda Castle Ruins Park. There is no main enclosure, but it is a nice place.

Speaking of the ruins of Ueda Castle, I think it will be this place (North Tower, East Tiger Exit Tower, South Tower). (Several people were taking pictures in kimono in front of the yaguramon) It's free for viewing from the outside, but to get inside, you need to purchase either a ticket that can be put in the turret for 300 yen or a common ticket that can be put in the museum for 500 yen (dive down the turret gate and on the right side Ticket sales owner) Inside, there are two iron torso legs (imitation), photographs of Ueda Castle in the Meiji and Showa eras, and models that reproduce the area around Ueda Castle at that time.

Speaking of Ueda Castle Ruins, I think this is the gate. There were so many people taking a walk and so many people stopping and taking pictures. The cherry blossoms taken from near this gate are very beautiful.
