★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommend if you are tired of walking among people and looking for a nice restaurant for great lunch and nice atmosphere to rest your feets.
Great value set meal from 1000 yen to 3000 yen. Good service and if you are lucky to sit by the window, you will see Hokanji Temple from there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not good quality. Staffs have no idea about the serving - their clothes touch the food and drop green tea everywhere.
Soba and eel dishes are nothing special, but price is very expensive. I recommend you to order Kaiseki set in here.
Do not order eel rice bowl.

Great view on the forest.
We discovered some good japanese dishes like the chawamushi and we had an excellent lunch right before the visit of Kiyomizudera temple.
English menu available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent Kyoto-style food near Kyomizudera with vegetarian option + views.
The food was very good. Several set menus focusing on traditional Kyoto dishes, including yuba and yudofu. Vegetarian options are great. Other included dishes: miso dengaku, delicate tempura, pickles, custard, sashimi, etc. Also serve unagi on rice.
The atmosphere is ok: great views, but very busy.
