★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 真岡鐵道の終点駅。貴重な機関車を回転させる台があります。駅周辺には、商店街や食堂、コンビニもあります。機関車が見れるローカルな駅。土日は無料で駐車できる駐車場が駅前にあります。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 観光に力を入れている駅なので、駅舎は綺麗で大きかったです。
駅前は広々としていました。ホームからの眺めも良いので、のんびりと座っているのも悪く無いかも

真岡鐵道の終着駅。
まだ安心できる世の中ではありませんが、少しずつでも活気が取り戻せる事を祈っています。

ほとんど人もいなくて淋しい感じでしたが、それはそれで、駅を独り占めした感じもして、ちょっと探検を楽しんできました。
電車の発着時刻前後であれば、もっと賑わっているのかもしれませんね。
とてもきれいな駅です。
職員さん一同の受験生へのメッセージが、なんか心に響きました。
こういうのいいですよね。
頑張れ受験生！！
ちなみに、駅前の駐車場スペースは、土、日、祝日は一般の方も自由に停められるようです。
I visited on Sunday.
It was a lonely feeling with few people, but it made me feel like I had the station all to myself, and I enjoyed exploring a little.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 旧国鉄の真岡線、終着駅茂木駅です。
現在は、SLを走らせ集客を図っているようです。休日のみの運行ですが、なかなか人気があるようです。
車で行ったので、乗ってみることまではできませんでしたが、間近に見ることができて感動しました。
It is the terminal station Motegi Station on the Moka Line of the former Japanese National Railways.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 「もてぎ」と読む?? 駅舎内、ホーム、周辺のたくさんの写真を載せた。２両編成の車両も止まっていて、車内も撮影できた。
真岡鐵道の終着駅であるとともに、「幻の長倉線」の始発駅。転車台があったり、SL(休日のみ)が走ったりと魅力がいっぱい。
駅舎や駅前もきれい。また、駅員さんも親切で愛想良く接してくれる。無料駐車場?️あり。清潔なトイレ?(駅舎の外)もある。
2022年１月３１日(月)に茂木町の街歩きで訪れた。

●駅の紹介
開駅 大正9年12月15日（平成9年6月改築）
時間帯によっては駅員がおらず、無人となりますので、その際は乗車しましたら必ず整理券を取ってください。降車の際は車内で清算してください。
鉄道利用者のため、無料駐車場、駐輪場が整備されています。
沿線観光に利用できるレンタサイクルをご用意しております。
真岡線の終点です。駅舎内には、鉄道利用者と地域住民の交流の場として、多目的施設「ききょう館」が併設されています。
茂木町には、モータースポーツで世界的に有名な「ツインリンクもてぎ」があり、その最寄り駅となっています。
